PYL 2015 VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

As a volunteer–run organization, every family is crucial to the success of the Petaluma Youth Lacrosse League (PYL).  In the past, a very small percentage of PYL families had been doing the lion’s share of the work.  In an effort to not fully exhaust those people and to accommodate for the phenomenal growth of the club, we have chosen to enforce the pre-existing volunteer hour commitment.

As agreed to at the time of player registration, each PYL family is responsible for completing 5 volunteer hours per season.  Alternately, families may choose a buy-out option at a rate of $20/hr or $100 for the season.  Also as agreed to at the time of registration, any remaining hours after July 20th 2015 will be automatically charged to the credit or debit card that PYL has on file for your family.

We much prefer 100% participation in volunteering rather than exercising the buyout.  If you have a unique or valuable way to volunteer for PYL that is not listed in the options below, we are open to hearing how you can contribute.

Volunteering is easy.

  • Check the Volunteer Tab on the PYL website for a list of current volunteer opportunities.
  • There are three types of volunteer opportunities available as listed below:
  • For a season long PYL positions- E-mail Ted Patchet at vicepresident@petalumalacrosse.com.
  • For an organization wide job- sign up through the volunteer tab on the PYL website.
  • For individual team jobs- talk to your team manager.
  • Please send an email to volunteercoordinator@petalumalacrosse.com to record the hours you have worked.  You must notify the volunteer coordinator by email within two weeks to be credited for your hours.
  • To track your hours, you may look online under the volunteer tab for a list of hours fulfilled.  This list will be updated on a monthly basis.  You are responsible for contacting volunteercoordinator@petalumalacrosse.com to discuss any discrepancy in the hours you are credited for.

Volunteering is rewarding.

  • You support your child, their friends, the PYL and the sport of lacrosse!
  • We will be introducing a PYL Volunteer of the Year Award.
  • All volunteers (excluding board members and coaches) who complete more than 10 hours of volunteer time this season will be entered in a raffle for a free 2016 player registration.

Please contact Ted Patchet at vicepresident@petalumalacrosse.com with any questions or concerns.  Thank you in advance for all your help this season.  RIVERCATS ROCK!

  • Available PYL Season Long Positions that will more than fulfill your hours
